The Commissioner Matt Murphy

"The Commissioner" Matt Murphy began his WTSQ journey in 2015 as one of the recurring characters on Josh Gaffin's world famous Afternoon Show. Matt became co-host on The Anti-Hour alongside Lisa Bernheim every Saturday afternoon, and eventually The Morning Drive host weekday mornings as well.

With a humble start in radio at WTSQ, Matt took on a role as board operator and producer at WVRC Media in Charleston in 2017, working for the WV Metronews flagship station 580-WCHS. He became the full-time traffic manager for the Charleston cluster in 2019 and added the role of Assistant Promotions Director in 2021. 

In early 2026, The Commissioner rejoined the ranks of WTSQ running the CharlesTunes Podcast Center, and assisting with audio production and other operational needs. You can also hear The Commissioner Friday afternoons 3pm-5pm, hosting The Friday Wind Up.
