Charleston's favorite used record store Elk City Records plans to reopen at their new location at 601 Maryland Avenue on Groundhog Day, Friday, February 2nd!

Having outgrown their first location on Washington Street in Elk City, owner Phil Melick spent months looking around the neighborhood and was able to acquire and renovate a spacious building, on the corner of Maryland Avenue and Lee Street, with the help of some superb local contractors. Visitors to the new location will find lots to love in the much larger space including a dedicated area for 45 and 78 rpm shoppers and ample curbside parking. With all the possibilities and plans for the new space Phil said there is one thing that won't change though, "our goal remains the same: curating, learning, and sharing music with real, live people like the record shops we've loved for over 50 years."

Phil joins Mya for Local Focus Tuesday. Together they play some vinyl selections of WV local musicians from Phil's personal collection and talk about all the cool new things you will find at Elk City Records.
