As I write this on Sunday, I am still buzzing over seeing Some Surprises last night at The Snack Institute, and WTSQ's own Bug at Taylor Books. Too much great music to check out is a good problem to have. The Snack Institute is really a special place. I was able to take my 12 year old nephew out for a rock show where he got to see an extremely legit Seattle band and also see some other kids and weirdos. Don't sleep on The Snack. Since we've last caught up, I've seen some great shows, gone through the 2024 Fund Drive, and pretended to like vinyl records to appease Mya Ross during Vinylthon. We've all grown a lot as people. On Sunday, April 21 I caught Teen Suicide at Ace of Cups in Columbus. A really cool early, all ages show. I was probably the oldest person in the room, but what's important is that I didn't look like it. The Leeds post-punk act feel like genre stalwarts at this point, but the new album, Where's My Utopia is only their second. Look for that on March 1st.
